Welcome to the Exciting World of Digital Photography!

The field of photography is truly exciting. When purchasing a new camera there a several questions you should ask yourself:

• How much can I spend?
• What features am I looking for?
• I am looking for a specific brand?
• Does the camera have rechargeable batteries?
• What type of memory does the camera have?
• Are the accessories easy to find and readily accessible

Once you have the answers to the above questions you will be ready to set out on your search for the perfect camera. One thing you might want to consider is the price difference between the one you can afford and the next model up in the line with more bells and whistles. If it is not a lot of difference, possibly you can wait until you can get the exact camera you want.

I recently had a camera that failed me. And in the most inappropriate place … first day on vacation!! Thank goodness my daughter had her Canon camera with her and she is an excellent photographer. Our vacation is forever etched in photography so we can remember the wonderful time we had.

In searching for a replacement I spent endless hours online searches the various models and types. I knew that I wanted to get a camera that would take closeups and other forms of photos. My dream camera would have been a digital SLR but the one I wanted was over $1,000 and did not fit my budget at the time.

I bought a Sony (first time owning a Sony) and I must say I am impressed with the quality and capabilities of the camera. I bought the Sony Cyber-Shot DCS-H20.
