The Love of Photography Can Lead to a Career

Christmas is a great time to give the gift of a great camera. I can remember when I was nine years old my parents gave me an Argus box camera. (Now that does not give you a clue as to how old I am does it?!!) I loved that camera and it was the beginning of my love for photography.
No matter if you are giving a camera to capture your teen’s memories of friends, or to record the memories of your wonderful vacations, or to help a person get started on the road of a career in photography there are many choices available.

Amazon has a wide range of cameras. You will also find a lot of accessories, including memory sticks and batteries. Listed below are only a few of what you will find online. Please click on one of the images below to be taken to Amazon and from there you can check all they have to offer and also the latest sales and best prices. I hope these selections will help you in your search for the camera that will meet your needs.

I feel that once a child shows an interest in photography and is responsible, it is a good time to start with an inexpensive camera. I get a great deal of pleasure looking at pictures and videos my grandchildren have taken. We all look at things in a different light. You never know where that love of photography will take them. When they are young they catch you at most undesirable moments, but as they grow older they might just end up in a career where their photos will be enjoyed by the world. Freelance Photography is an industry that is really exploding at this moment.

I hope you all have blue skies, puffy clouds and rainbows in your lives!! Also, happy holiday times to capture and look back on.

Smile!!

Welcome to the Exciting World of Digital Photography!

The field of photography is truly exciting. When purchasing a new camera there a several questions you should ask yourself:

• How much can I spend?
• What features am I looking for?
• I am looking for a specific brand?
• Does the camera have rechargeable batteries?
• What type of memory does the camera have?
• Are the accessories easy to find and readily accessible

Once you have the answers to the above questions you will be ready to set out on your search for the perfect camera. One thing you might want to consider is the price difference between the one you can afford and the next model up in the line with more bells and whistles. If it is not a lot of difference, possibly you can wait until you can get the exact camera you want.

I recently had a camera that failed me. And in the most inappropriate place … first day on vacation!! Thank goodness my daughter had her Canon camera with her and she is an excellent photographer. Our vacation is forever etched in photography so we can remember the wonderful time we had.

In searching for a replacement I spent endless hours online searches the various models and types. I knew that I wanted to get a camera that would take closeups and other forms of photos. My dream camera would have been a digital SLR but the one I wanted was over $1,000 and did not fit my budget at the time.

I bought a Sony (first time owning a Sony) and I must say I am impressed with the quality and capabilities of the camera. I bought the Sony Cyber-Shot DCS-H20.

Nikon Coolpix L20 10MP Digital Camera with 3.6 Optical Zoom and 3 inch LCD (Navy Blue)

Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black)
12.2-megapixel CMOS sensor captures enough detail for poster-size, photo-quality prints
Large 3.0-inch LCD display; includes Canon’s EF-S 18-55mm, f3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens
DIGIC III image processor provides fast, accurate image processing; improved Autofocus and framing rate
EOS Integrated Cleaning system, plus Dust Delete Data Detection in included software
Stores images on SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20/B 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization
• 10.1-megapixel Super HAD CCD image sensor
• 10x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens; Optical SteadyShot image stabilization

• 3.0-inch (230K pixels) LCD; Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology
• 11MB built-in memory; capture images to Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo Media (not included)

For more detailed information on the cameras listed here please click on the images and go to Amazon. While you are there you can check out the vast assortment of photography equipment, or any other items you may choose to shop for. Remember that Amazon has free shipping for orders over $25.00 and opposed to buying merchandise in your local areas, you will also be saving on tax.

I will continue to bring you more photography information. Please check back when you have a chance.

I hope you will capture “Aha” moments with whatever camera you purchase.

Judy
